Vision system for bottles orientation on high speed labelers [AX10]

Sidel Video Orientation System is an automatic system with high speed cameras installed inside the labeler, at the carousel infeed. When entering into the labeler, the containers have a random orientation.

Thanks to the servo driven platforms, they are then rotated in order to acquire the images of their full body surface.Four images of each bottle are taken and sent to a microcontroller.

The algorithm searches for the reference points on the recorded images.The position of the reference points on the chosen image is compared with other ones stored in the memory during calibration procedure. By interpolating this data the actual angular position is calculated and sent to the motion system controller.

The controlled platform will rotate the bottle up to the right position for label sticking.
