-In the current IrDA systems (with internal or external Master Card), can occur issues for obsolescence with the Master and Slave cards and with some HMI.

-The new Matrix system, with new components and a new RS485 connection instead of the previous IrDA communication, increases functionality and improves the control of the valve.

-The seamer supply consists of the infeed table for can ejection system (including new lateral guides, can guide, connection parts).

-The filler supply consists of: can ejection system (pneumatic ejector, pneumatic modification and wire electrical material), software modification, documentation update.

-Test bench made of stainless steel frame, frontal access panel in LEXAN, removable panels in stainless steel, easy access to the work area.

-This bench allows quick and fast removal of the tested filling valves, comfortable access for maintenance and has fast connections to pipe circuits by means of clamps.

-To reduce the time for passing informations between the operators during the shift change, the new alarm management has been implemented on the operator panel. The new HMI alarm management is independent from the current HMI.

-The new HMI mainly has in addition: the alarms historical data, the alarms OPL (that allows operator to know how reacting to the alarms) and the counters (that take into account the difference between the production hours and running hours).

-The new system basically includes two components: CO2 extraction group and CO2 detector (in two points of detection). In order to extract the CO2 from the filler more effectively, it is foreseen to contain it with plastic guards: these will separate the filler from the space outside the protection doors, in the area shown in the figure below in yellow (at floor level).

-It must be verified if the machine is already equipped with the closing plastic guards, otherwise they must be provided for the application of the upgrade.

• Automatic Product Change-Over (APCO) is a filler automatic procedure which carries out the following operations:
  • Emptying of filler and mixer tanks;
  • Mixer and filler tanks rinsing or cleaning;
  • Automatic draining;
  • Preparation of the new product and filler pressurization.

New standard sterile air filtration group must be installed in the Starblend Plus and Evolution.

Coreblend mixers could be already fitted with it.

• Upgrade recommended in case of hot environments (example RVH fillers)
• Moisture removed by blowing dry air inside the pilot valve (max 0.5 bar). The slight overpressure creates air circulation which prevents condensation from forming
• Scope of supply:

  • Distribution unit

Upgrade recommended to ensure all components replacement.

With SIMATIC STEP7 Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal), you can configure, program, test, and diagnose the basic, advanced and distributed controllers of all generations, whether PLC- or PC-based, including software controllers.

Scope of supply: depending on the type of filler and the type of modification (plc system migration or complete plc system upgrade).

Upgrade recommended to boost performance of the filling valves.

The main difference vs the old ID1 valve is a centering bell driven by external columns from a pneumatic actuator positioned on top of the new filling valve

• Current Filler’s configuration doesn’t allow to install new Pilots valves generation together with old ones.

  Updating the Mastercard firmware will make it possible to run the machine with a mix of Pilot valve generation.

• Additional components to be confirmed case by case:
  • 1 CPU (up to date)
  • all recipes imported in new CPU

• The modification imply to separate the pilot valve from the fluid distributor to move it away from the filling valve, placing it on a dedicated support, and protecting it with a cover against water splashes.
